Tribute to Charmaine Hooper

The Fédération Française de Danse has learned with deep sadness of the passing of Mrs. Charmaine Hooper. It pays tribute to her exemplary and unwavering commitment to the international Paralympic movement. The Federation extends to her family, her loved ones, and the entire sporting community its respectful consideration and its most sincere condolences.

The Austrian Disabled Sports Federation, as a member of Worldabilitysport, expresses its deepest condolences to Charmaine's family and friends. We wish them strength during this difficult time.

Such a lovely lady. We will miss her at HFWS meetings and events. Condolences to Jason, her family and friends. Rest in Peace Charmaine.

As we, the NPC of the Netherlands, are still struggeling to comprehend this loss, we find ourselves reflecting not only on her extraordinary professional impact but also on the warmth, openness, and genuine humanity she brought to every interaction. Over the years, we were fortunate to enjoy a close and collegial relationship with Charmaine—a relationship that deepened our mutual respect and strengthened our connection within the international Para sport community. Our most recent conversations with her, during our time together in Seoul, once again reminded us of her sincere interest in people, her generosity of spirit, and the ease with which she made everyone around her feel valued. She will be missed by many.

On behalf of the Belgian Paralympic Committee, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all who loved her during this difficult time. She was a true inspiration, a woman with her heart in the right place, and she will forever remain in our memories.

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of the sudden passing of Charmaine. I have known Charmaine for many years from my time as an athlete and, subsequently, as a coach and she was always so warm, friendly and inspiring. Her legacy will live on, in Para Sport for many years and she will be a great loss, not just to Para Sport, but to sport in general. On behalf of all at Irish Wheelchair Association Sport I would like to extend our deepest condolences to Charmaine’s family, friends, and all her colleagues at World Abilitysport. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this incredibly difficult time. May she Rest in Peace.

Charmaine helped so many of us come to para sport, athletes, administrators and journalists. I would not do the para sport journalism I do if it wasn't for Charmaine's work. Thank you Charmaine, you are so dearly missed.

Charmaine was an absolute legend when it came to International Para Sport. Her energy, commitment and passion knew no bounds. I regarded her as a true friend and owe her so much. I have wonderful memories of working with her. Always good fun and I especially remember the copious amounts of Green Tea ice cream we ate in Tokyo. Thanks boss. You will be so missed.
