Tribute to Charmaine Hooper

On behalf of World Sailing, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Charmaine Hooper. Charmaine’s support of sailing, and the openness and warmth with which she welcomed us into the World Abilitysport Games, meant a great deal to our community. Her enthusiasm, leadership, and unwavering commitment to protecting and championing disability sport were truly inspiring, and her impact will be felt far beyond our sport. We are so sorry for this loss. Our thoughts are with Charmaine’s family, friends, and colleagues at World Abilitysport at this very difficult time.
